ADDIS ABABA- St. Mary’s University (SMU) celebrated a graduation of its 2020 regular undergraduate program students yesterday.
In his opening remark SMU Associate Professor and President Wondwosen Tamrat said that the university has graduated a total of 1,200 undergraduate students.
Of the graduates, 735 or 61 percent are female and this indicates that the female participation in SMU is not only encouraging but also has exceeded the national plan, it was learnt.
During the graduation, medals and trophies were awarded to the graduates who scored highest grade in their academic fields.
As to the president, education is a key to accelerate the country’s sustainable development. Hence, SMU graduates are great human capitals in fostering the country’s inclusive development via serving their profession and conducting researches in various as aspects.
He also urged the graduates to serve their beloved country in a faithful and respected manner apart from toiling to ensure the Ethiopia’s prosperity via adhering COVID-19 prevention measures.
The university has graduated the students who have completed education in management, accounting, marketing and ICT programs.
