ADDIS ABABA- More than 2.5 billion Birr has been mobilized in 10 rounds for Dine for Ethiopia project from public and private institutions, according to the Office of the Prime Minister.
Accordingly, private financial institutions including Zemen Bank, Buna International Bank, Addis Credit and Saving Institution, Addis Capital Goods Finance Business S.C, Abay Bank S.C, Ethiopian Reinsurance Company S.C, Wegagen Bank, and others donated 55 million Birr in the first round.
Also, Dashen Bank, Federal Housing Corporation, Berhan Bank, Cooperative Bank of Oromia, Enat Bank, Oromia International Bank and Abyssinia Bank contributed 115 million Birr in the second round.
Awash Bank, Oromia Credit and Savings S.C., Asmara Holdings Ltd, Debub Global Bank, Addis International Bank, Nib International Bank, and the management and staff of the Federal Housing and Corporation extended 75 million Birr in the third round.
By the same token, Anbessa International Bank, Hibret Bank, Awash Insurance Company, Development Bank of Ethiopia and Dedebit Credit and Savings Institution donated 40 million Birr in the fourth round.
Commercial Bank of Ethiopia and the Banking Community, Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the community, Ethiopian Insurance Corporation, Moha PLC, Avon Industries PLC, Lions International Trading PLC, Amhara Credit and Savings Institution, ABH Partners, Benishangul-Gumuz State Council, and others generated 1.29 billion Birr in the fifth round.
Adama Steel Factory, Lions Group, Belayneh Kinde, Oromia Engineering Corporation, Oromia Construction Corporation, Kerchanshe Trading PLC, Balezaf Alcohol, Hora Trading, Ethio Gabana Trading, and Chilalo Food Production Complex have donated 80 million Birr in the sixth round.
Other institutions, including the Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Service Enterprise, donated 595 million Birr in the seventh round.
In the eighth round, state governments and other institutions donated 623 million Birr.
The state-owned telecom service provider Ethio-telecom participated in the ninth round contributed 180 million Birr. In the tenth round, 20 million Birr was mobilized from different institutions to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s (PhD) eco-friendly initiative.
